In this tutorial, we will setup Share A Sale (https://www.shareasale.com/) conversion and affiliate tracking on the PayWhirl platform.

You will need your Merchant ID from ShareASale to complete set up.

Your web site will need to send two unique values from the completed sale or lead into the ShareASale tracking code.

The two unique values that need to be sent to Share-A-Sale:

  1. The amount of the sale – referred to as the AMOUNT

  2. The order number or unique identifier from that order – referred to as the TRACKINGNUMBER

The remaining variables can be hard-coded into the ShareASale tracking code, and are as follows:

Merchant ID number – referred to as MERCHANTID
Type of program, either a LEAD or SALE program – referred to as TRANSTYPE

EXAMPLE TRACKING CODE MODIFIED

In this example we are passing in the the AMOUNT DUE from PayWhirl into the "amount" parameter and the INVOICE ID from PayWhirl into the "tracking" parameter to create a unique identifier for the order in Share A Sale.

WARNING: To make the example above work properly, you still need to replace "SHARE-A-SALE-MERCHANT-ID" with your ShareASale Merchant ID from your account.

To add the code to PayWhirl, go to Apps and Integrations page and scroll down to Custom Scripts. Then click 'Install App' (No additional cost).

Once there, you can give the integration a name and paste the code into the CONVERSION section, which is loaded after each successful conversion.

That's it!... You should now be tracking widget conversions with ShareASale and can use their affiliate tools to reward your sellers!
