Local Pickup and delivery are supported for subscriptions. Your online store customers can be offered Local Delivery & Pickup in your checkout when purchasing Subscriptions 🎉.

To enable Local Delivery & Pickup, visit the Shopify Help Center. Once a product with a subscription is configured to have local pickup or delivery in Shopify, it will work automatically with PayWhirl.

Things to keep in mind

  1. Local Pickup will always be free.

  2. Subscription orders that have already been created in Shopify cannot be updated to a new delivery method. This includes customers who want to switch their shipping methods for prepaid subscriptions.

  3. By default, a product will have the same shipping rate, whether bought as a one-time purchase or as part of a subscription.

  4. Only the cheapest shipping rate is available when a product is purchased as a subscription. Customers can't choose between multiple shipping rates.

Management tools for merchants

Merchants can manage the delivery method by viewing a subscription. Click the edit button next to the delivery details to make changes:

There are 4 types of delivery methods:

  1. None - No delivery or shipping, mainly for memberships or digital goods

  2. Shipping - Standard subscription shipping for an order

  3. Pickup - Sets the order to be picked up by the customer at the local store

  4. Local delivery - You can set up the option for local customers to have their orders delivered.

Some methods may ask for a "Code". This is mainly for 3rd party fulfillment apps for Shopify. You may need to contact the fulfillment app to ask if they require a code. If you are not using a 3rd party fulfillment app, you can set this to anything you like.

Management tools for customers

Customers can manage their delivery methods as well. If they login to their subscription portal and click manage on a subscription, they will see these options:

From there, they can select a new delivery method:

If you have multiple locations with the item in stock, the customer can pick the location they prefer.

Once they confirm the changes, they will be all set!
